The first syntheses have been successfully made of heavy ionic liquids (ILs) based on quaternary ammonium cations and green hexafluorouranate (V) anion. The physicochemical properties observed for these ILs are sufficient for the applications in the fields of electrochemistry and nuclear chemistry such as isotope enrichment using electrophoresis technique.
